Overview
Innovate UK, part of UK Research and Innovation, is investing up to £1 million to fund collaborative business led research and development (R&D) projects. These must result in a new product, industrial process or service. Projects must be innovative and involve a technological risk.

This EUREKA competition specifically addresses advanced materials in order to improve both products and processes.

Your project must have high market potential in the participating regions and/or globally.
Your Project
Your total eligible project costs must be between £100,000 and £1 million. This includes costs from all partners, from the UK and all other participating members. The total grant available to the UK applicants on the project is up to £350,000.
Your project can include subcontractors but they must not account for more than 20% of the total eligible costs within the UK participation.
Your project can last up to 3 years and must start by 1 February 2021.
The start date may move to fit the national funding procedures of the regions involved in the selected projects.

Eligibility
To lead a project as a UK registered organisation you must:
Innovate UK strongly welcome partnerships with companies from South Korea.
You can also collaborate with other UK registered businesses of any size and UK registered research organisations.
Research organisations cannot lead or work alone. They must be able to show how they will exploit the results of the project to grow the wider sector in the UK.
Your project must include at least one organisation from one of the participating regions of the EUREKA call on advanced materials. These regions are:
The organisations from these regions must meet the funding and eligibility conditions of their respective funding bodies. These will be provided in the call for proposals document on the EUREKA web page which will be published when this competition opens.
Each partner must carry out the majority of its funded work within the country from which it receives funding, for example the UK for Innovate UK funding.
Funding Costs
Up to £1 million has been allocated to fund innovation projects in this competition.
Organisations that are primarily engaged in commercial or economic activity (known as selective advantage) as part of the project must ensure their request for funding does not exceed the limits defined below. This includes organisations that typically act non-economically but for the purpose of this project will be undertaking commercial or economic activity.

The UK registered research organisations in your consortium can share up to 30% of the UK total eligible project costs. If your consortium contains more than one UK registered research organisation, this maximum will be shared between them.
