UK Grant Funding is available from many UK Funding Bodies, including UKRI, Innovate UK, SBRI, APC, ATI and many others.
UK Grant Funding is available through many UK funding bodies to de-risk innovation and drive growth within the UK.
Innovation is inherently risky, therefore Grant Funding is provided so organisations don’t need to risk their own cash to develop a new idea.
Grant Funding is typically applied for via a competitive process and awarded to those organisations with ideas which present an opportunity to deliver a return of investment (ROI) to the UK economy.
To apply for Grant Funding, you must follow the application process of the funding body. This can include multiple stages; expression of interest, multi-stage applications, and interview, before being awarded funding for your project. Depending on the competition criteria, you can apply as a single applicant or as part of a consortium. All competitions will have a scoring system and the highest scoring applications will be successful – successful scores are usually above 75%.
If you’re successfully awarded funding, you will usually receive up to 70% funding for your project depending on your stage of research, and your business will need to be able to match fund the remaining percentage.
