After graduating from my Bachelor’s in Biochemistry at the University of Exeter, I pursued further education via a collaborative MRes run by the University of Exeter/Shell Oil. Moving to Shell’s Texas-based engineering and science campus, I explored the production of biofuels from agri-waste, before returning to Devon investigate high-value protein production in microalgae.
Soon after my Master’s graduation, I moved to London to work as an editor/journalist at various scientific journals/publications, where my subjects of interest ranged from medical microbiology to sustainability and chemical engineering. Whilst working at a grants-focussed London start-up, I found an interest in helping businesses transform their futures through funding, working across Innovate UK’s Smart Grant, Biomedical Catalyst, COVID-recovery programmes, Women in Innovation and Young Innovators award, before focussing on the European Innovation Council’s Accelerator award.
At TBAT, I enjoy the challenge of communicating novel and complex ideas, as well as working with our extremely interesting and exciting clients.
With 18 years of classical ballet training under my belt, outside of work you will likely find me at the ballet/theatre, at the gym or hiking in some far-flung location.
