We’re proud to announce that TBAT Innovation has officially joined the Dains Group, one of the UK’s fastest-growing accountancy and advisory firms. This exciting development marks a significant milestone in TBAT’s journey and opens a new chapter of growth and enhanced service delivery.
Founded in 2002, TBAT Innovation has spent over two decades helping businesses across the UK unlock critical funding and support for research and development (R&D). With deep expertise across sectors such as engineering, software, AI, health, and life sciences, we’ve built a reputation for delivering high-value advice and results that fuel innovation.
Now, as part of the Dains Group, we’re positioned to take our TBAT services to the next level, backed by the strength, scale, and national presence of a Top 30 UK advisory firm.
At TBAT, we’ve always taken pride in our collaborative, client-first approach. It’s this culture that made our integration with Dains a natural fit. Dains’ commitment to valued relationships, fairness, integrity, and shared success mirrors our own core values of Vibrancy, Integrity, Collaboration, and Respect. Together, we’ll continue to help innovative businesses across the UK unlock R&D tax incentives, secure grant funding, and navigate complex funding landscapes with confidence and clarity.
Sam Stephens, Founder and Commercial Director at TBAT, shared:
“Joining the Dains Group marks an exciting new chapter for TBAT. We’ve always been passionate about helping businesses unlock funding and maximise the opportunities that come from innovation.
Dains allows us to bring that expertise to even more clients, supported by the strength and reach of a respected national advisory firm. Both teams share a commitment to building lasting relationships, delivering clear, pragmatic advice, and putting clients’ ambitions at the heart of everything we do.
Together, we’re in a stronger position than ever to support businesses across the UK in turning ideas into successful, sustainable growth.”
Richard McNeilly, CEO of The Dains Group, added:
“TBAT’s leadership team shares our client-centric mindset and commitment to delivering valuable advice. Its expertise in R&D tax incentives, grant funding, and innovation support will not only strengthen our specialist tax and advisory services but also open new opportunities for clients to access funding that fuels growth.
With a proven track record, deep sector knowledge, and a strong partner network, TBAT provides an exciting platform for expansion across the UK.”
The TBAT team, led by Ryan Mouncy (Managing Director), Sam Stephens (Commercial Director), and Elaine Williams (Finance Director), will continue to operate as usual from our base in Castle Donington, with our expert consultants working remotely across the UK. Our clients can expect the same dedicated service and trusted relationships, now strengthened by access to the broader resources and expertise of the Dains Group.
Dains is ranked 29th in the national Accountancy Age Top 100 and is the fastest-growing firm within that list. With over 1,000 people, 120 Partners and Directors, and offices across the UK, Dains is committed to building the UK and Ireland’s leading SME-focused advisory business.
