Field Doctor retained TBAT Innovation Ltd to secure an Innovate UK Better Food For All Grant.
Field Doctor is an SME at the forefront of fast-moving consumer-goods technologies, with decades of combined experience in direct-to-consumer food manufacturing businesses.
Field Doctor’s solutions deliver scientifically-researched, nutritionally-balanced frozen meals for users wishing to target key health areas including gut health, immunity and mental wellness. Field Doctor provide dietetics-based solutions for those looking to lose weight, reduce consumed FODMAPS, go gluten-free, and embrace healthier living in order to address conditions such as IBS/Coeliacs/Diabetes (Type-II).
In March 2023, Field Doctor approached TBAT to discuss funding opportunities for a collaborative product development with leading digital cancer survivorship clinic Perci Health.
Following discussions about their project, TBAT advised that the new Better Food For All competition would be an excellent fit for their scope, project and vision.
Field Doctor is developing a range of functional food-based frozen-meals, for stratified nutrition directed at breast-cancer survivors, focussed on NHS recommended, registered-dietitian-approved macronutrient and micronutrient-profiles, tested on post-treatment breast-cancer patient-groups.
Field Doctor’s breast-cancer specific meal-plan’s vision is to create clinician-approved, patient-group tested meal programmes, providing immune-support, reducing user-fatigue and contributing to healthier cardiovascular and blood-glucose support.
TBAT’s Grant Writing team worked closely with Field Doctor and Perci Health to understand the aims of their project and what they plan to achieve with their development. TBAT’s team worked alongside Field Doctor to gather all of the supporting information needed for their application and took the lead on the writing process on their behalf. TBAT’s team were able to build out a grant-eligible project plan and cost the work to be done from the ground-up, enabling submission of an award-winning, accurate, easy-to-follow timeline and project-methodology.
In May 2023, Field Doctor were notified by Innovate UK that their application had been successful and they would receive the £484,000 grant they applied for.
Field Doctor began their 18-month project in September 2023. TBAT and Field Doctor’s relationship continues with R&D Tax Credits claim assistance.
