With a higher educational college background within industrial, interior, environmental and graphic design, my first permanent working role was within an interior design environment. This provided for a creative outlook to problem solving, which eventually paid dividends when considering a career change in the early 90’s, moving into business management and consultancy. This change in career path commenced with a successful Diploma in Management gained from the MBA programme at Sheffield Hallam University.
The nature and advantages of this change has meant I have been involved with many market sectors and industries and I am adept at rapidly acquainting myself with the commercial and market factors that shape diverse businesses, whilst understanding the technology and financial structure of a new company, product or application.
Outside of work, I am very keen on sport, but it is the taking part that interests me and I reached a very high standard at both football and basketball, but you cannot top turning out on a warm Saturday afternoon to play village cricket. The comradery, the characters, the banter and not to forget ‘the fantastic teas’.
