The F4C was launched by the Department for Transport (DfT) to promote the development of an advanced low carbon fuels industry within the UK, including supplier capabilities and skills in relevant technologies, while maximising value for money for the taxpayer.

The F4C will provide up to £20m in capital grant funding over 3 years (2018-21) for major demonstration projects providing transformative and innovative solutions. The F4C will also provide up to £2m of Project Development Funding in 2017-18 to support the development of proposals.
The F4C will therefore operate in two stages; Stage One (Project Development) and Stage Two (Capital Funding).
The deadline for Stage One applications has been postponed until after 30 June 2017. Confirmation of the new application deadline will be updated once available.
You must pass Stage One to be eligible for Stage Two. Stage One is a detailed application stage where your project will be reviewed by the Expert Selection Panel. This is an essential step of the competition process.
