Jo Rudzki
Partner Relationship Manager

Medilink Midlands is the Midlands life science industry association with a vision to stimulate the growth of the Midlands life science sector by helping companies establish, develop, and grow. It works to transform the healthcare industry by connecting academia, businesses, clinicians and government. With offices across the Midlands, Medilink Midlands has been providing specialist business support to boost the region’s economic output from the life sciences industry for nearly two decades.

From 2015 to 2023, Medilink Midlands delivered three business support projects which were part-funded by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF). During this time, Medilink Midlands was able to award £3.5million of grant funding to eligible companies, equating to £47 of private investment for every £1 of public funding. Alongside the funding, Medilink Midlands’ expert Innovation Advisers delivered over 8000 hours of business support, with projects also involving collaborations with 79 universities and the delivery of 180 bespoke events. Success stories from some of the Midlands businesses assisted by Medilink Midlands over the course of the three projects are available to read here.

As part of its commitment to helping the Midlands life science sector to flourish, Medilink Midlands keeps a close eye on the available funding and opportunities for life science companies in the region and is well placed and primed to help businesses to take advantage of new initiatives.

Most recently, Medilink Midlands has secured funding from the Shared Prosperity Fund and Nottingham City Council to deliver the MeTAP project. MeTAP aims to assist start-ups with targeted support streams, including the Innovation Accelerator Programme. Working in partnership with the University of Nottingham, MeTAP aims to support companies to accelerate innovation and provide the right skills and tools to enable companies to increase their competitive advantage.

More information on MeTAP is available via the below video.

Medilink Midlands and TBAT Innovation have worked together for over a decade. TBAT is a Patron of Medilink Midlands, and the two companies have enjoyed a mutually beneficial relationship throughout this time. TBAT and Medilink Midlands have delivered a number of webinars and events together, and TBAT will be exhibiting at Medilink Midlands’ flagship Innovation Day event in October 2023. Medilink Midlands works with its entire Patron and Member network to support the Midlands life sciences ecosystem and add value to the sector.

Working across both the East and West Midlands, Medilink Midlands will continue to play a central role in supporting life science organisations to thrive, develop and grow the Midlands life science sector, and attract investment into the region.
