Innovate UK, and Innosuisse, the Swiss Innovation Authority, will invest up to £3 million from Innovate UK and at least CHF 3 million from Innosuisse for this UK-Switzerland Bilateral Call. This is subject to a sufficient number of high quality applications being received.
Swiss and UK participants are invited to submit proposals for joint research and development projects with strong commercial potential in both the UK and Switzerland.
This UK-Switzerland Bilateral Call aims to strengthen cross-border innovation and collaboration in the following priority areas:
It aims to strengthen UK–Swiss collaboration and capabilities in emerging technologies, driving the development and deployment of innovative solutions and applications across a wide range of sectors.
Projects should contribute to the development of commercially viable products, processes, and/or technical services with significant market opportunities in the UK and Swiss markets.
Your collaborative R&D proposal must present a disruptive innovation with strong market potential, clear commercialisation and IP plans, deliverable financials and timelines, significant economic impact for the UK, and demonstrate the added value of UK–Swiss collaboration.

To be eligible for this grant, projects must have at least one business entity from the UK or Switzerland with at least one research institute being from either country. Additional research organisations or commercial companies from either country may participate. Your UK project must have a maximum grant funding request of £450,000, last between 18 and 36 months, start on 1st February 2027 and end by 31st January 2030.
No single country may contribute more than 70% or less than 30% of the total person-months dedicated to the project and the majority of the work must be undertaken in the UK and Switzerland.
Funding of up to £3 million is available with grant sizes up to £450k. The grant funding can cover up to 70% of UK organisations’ project costs, depending on project type and business size.
